The nominations for the 72nd Golden Globe Awards were announced bright and early this morning at the Beverly Hilton hotel. During the traditional pre-dawn ceremony in Beverly Hills, HFPA president Theo Kingma introduced Kate Beckinsale, two-time Golden Globe Award-nominee Peter Krause, Paula Patton, and Golden Globe-winner and five-time nominee Jeremy Piven did the honors.

17 Animated Motion Pictures have been approved as eligible for 2015 Golden Globe Award consideration. The eligibility rules for the animation category stipulate that movement and characters' performances must be created using a frame-by-frame technique.

Underworld star Kate Beckinsale, two-time Golden Globe Award-nominee Peter Krause, Paula Patton and Golden Globe winner and five-time nominee Jeremy Piven will announce the nominees for the 72nd annual Golden Globe awards on Thursday, December 11. They will join Hollywood Foreign Press Association president, Theo Kingma, dick clark productions’ executive producer Barry Adelman and Miss Golden Globe, Greer Grammer.

  Tina Fey has revealed it was Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels who suggested she and Amy Poehler should sign on to host the Golden Globes for two more years. And she has given an insight into how she and Amy plan their remarks and jokes.

The HFPA gained plaudits and publicity for giving away almost $2 million at it's grants dinner last month, but its charity work continues throughout the year, as a recent letter from the Small Wonders Foundation to HFPA president Theo Kingma demonstrates. In it, Small Wonders president Thelma Waxman thanked theHFPA for donating a Golden Globe awards celebrity gift bag to the silent auction at the Foundation's fundraising event, Night of Wonders, held in June.

Known for its penchant for philanthropy, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association hosted their annual Grants Dinner Banquet at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Thursday evening. And by the time the final curtain bowed, almost two million dollars had been given away to entertainment-related charities.

Todd Boehly, president of Guggenheim Partners, which also owns the Los Angeles Dodgers, Hollywood Reporter and Billboard magazine among other assets, presented HFPA president Theo Kingma with Dodger star Yasiel Puig 's autographed team shirt, saying: "We are excited to be your partner.
