In honor of International Women’s Day, Hollywood Foreign Press Association member David Caspi hosts this episode of our Golden Globes Around the World podcast series featuring Israeli actresses, sisters Moran Atias and Shani Atias, to discuss their new women empowerment initiative titled “Me First”. Moran Atias first rose to fame as a fashion model in Italy, with noted designer Roberto Cavalli taking her under his wing and later walking the runways for major brands, namely Dolce and Gabbana with whom she formed a close bond.

Spike Lee – Rewind: Golden Globes Around the World podcast series

In honor of 2023 Black History Month, we are rewinding to 2018, when HFPA member Alessandra Venezia had the privilege of interviewing Spike Lee - writer, director, actor, producer, author and educator who helped revolutionize Modern Black Cinema and inspired countless generations of black filmmakers who have continued to enrich the landscape of film and black culture. Spike’s unique voice captivated audiences from the start, with early films including She’s Gotta Have It (1986), School Daze (1988), Do the Right Thing (1989) and 25th Hour (2002).

  As we continue exploring Black History Month, HFPA member Kimberly Reyes recently sat down on zoom with two influential filmmakers who have unique credentials to address both where we stand and where we should be headed in entertaining and educating audiences to better understand history. Also in perfect timing for the milestone month, producer Chris L Jenkins and director Brandon Kramer are promoting their own documentary film, The First Step, which followed media personality and civil rights activist Van Jones as he attempted to build bridges during the Trump era and bring people together from both political parties to pass a landmark criminal justice bill on prison reform, The First Step bill.

Not rain, sleet or snow could stop our intrepid HFPA members, Yong Chavez and Miriam Spritzer, from attending the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah last week and hitting all the buzzed-about screenings.
