After featuring Albert Einstein last year, National Geographic’s anthology series Genius spotlights the life of Spanish painter Pablo Picasso. Like the first season Genius: Picasso splits the narrative between the painter’s early years in Spain, in which he is portrayed by Alex Ross, and his later life in Paris where Antonio Banderas takes over acting duties.

Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale was one of last year’s breakout shows earning three Golden Globe nominations and wins both as Best Television Drama and for Best Actress (Elisabeth Moss’ second Globe). A testament to the excellence of the production helmed by show runner Bruce Miller who collaborated closely with Margaret Atwood in adapting and serializing her novel.

Expectations are high as a patchwork of conflicting clues build up to the much anticipated second season premiere of HBO's Westworld, as hosts and guests once again inhabit the futuristic wild west amusement park of dreams, desires and mayhem, first created in the mind of legendary sci-fi writer Michael Crichton, who wrote and directed the 1973 film on which the series is based. While the first season had hosts awakening to their consciousness, the second season looks to promise epic conflicts, violence and retribution as our HFPA members Ramzi Malouki and Michele Manelis (with camera work by Mirai Konishi) discovered in these exclusive interviews with cast members Evan Rachel Wood, James Marsden and Thandiwe Newton.

The overarching theme of Downton Abbey was in a sense always the inexorable passage of time, and the end of the gilded Edwardian era. So it is as fitting as it is inevitable that the hugely successful and multiple Golden Globe nominated series itself would come to an end.

Ryan Murphy’s new anthology series American Crime Story has become must see TV with its take on the best-known celebrity trial ever. As a singularly unifying moment, the “OJ trial” stands alongside 9/11 and the Kennedy assassination as one of the defining “I remember where I was” moments in American popular culture.
