HFPA GranteeThe Young Storytellers Script to Stage program is provided in more than 50 low-income public elementary schools across Los Angeles twice a year. Led by a volunteer head mentor, each session is a mixture of creative gameplay and one-on-one writing time.

HFPA GranteeNewFilmmakers Los Angeles is an organization dedicated to showcasing works by emerging filmmakers from around the world, providing the city’s community of entertainment professionals with a steady stream of monthly screenings. With the goal of promoting, supporting and connecting emerging filmmakers, NFMLA provides a forum where filmmakers can be recognized for their contributions, discuss their projects and connect with industry professionals to further their budding careers.

HFPA GranteeThe American Film Institute’s Directing Workshop for Women (DWW) spans a year-and-a-half of activity for the participants. Its mission is to support women who already have some experience in film production and aspire to become established as professionals, and it involves the guided production of a short film or web series from conception to exhibition and beyond.

The 55th Annual Publicists Awards gave a special award to the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) on its 75th anniversary celebration of the Golden Globe Awards. Meher Tatna, HFPA president, accepted the award on behalf of the association in the luncheon held March 2 at the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills.

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) hosted a very special British reception in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Golden Globe Awards at the May Fair Hotel in London. Attendees included Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Barbara Broccoli, Caitriona Balfe, Celia Imrie, Christian Slater, Christine Baranski, Gillian Anderson, Jason Issacs, Jenna Colman, Jim Sturgess, Joanne Froggatt, Lesley Manville, Mark Stanley, Nahuel Pérez, Biscayart, Peter Morgan,  Rami Malek, Robin Campillo, Rosamund Pike, Sam Heughen, Shazad Latif, Sonequa Martin-Green, Sophie Gardiner and Tobias Menzies.

As part of the special events to celebrate this year’s 75th anniversary of the Golden Globes, the Hollywood Foreign Press Association hosted a special panel of Golden Globe-Winning TV Game Changers at The Paley Center for Media. The panel included Norman Lear whose shows, in a career spanning six decades, have won 10 Golden Globes and racked up 55 nominations.
