Fashion Trends at the Venice Film Festival – Cate Blanchett, Julianne Moore, Georgina Rodriguez

Cate Blanchett

(Above) Cate Blanchett and Julianne Moore wore black velvet at the premiere of Tár at the Venice Film Festival. The Aussie who portrays an orchestra conductor star chose a black jumpsuit nipped at the waist with a floral finish at the bust.

(Below) Julianne Moore, Jury President, had a slashed bodice and substantial bling. Note the platform that has also returned to the fashion stakes.

Julianne MooreJodie Turner-Smith

(Above) Jodi Turner-Smith was another head-turner in clashing colors – a trend on the rise. Red dress, bright green feathered slip-ons by Brother Vellies, and an orange purse. The look is finished with a choker and super-styled hair. Stunning.

(Below) Sophie Kauer went in a mint green short suit. The jacket was buttoned and plunging. The shorts are short, but not fitted, the make-up, soft. Classic school girl lace-ups finished the look.

Kelsey Merritt

(Above) Kelsey Merrit went with a pale beaded gown, fitted, with a train. The hair was sculpted. The baby hues are seen throughout the day under the camera’s flash.

(Below) Cate Blanchett caused a stir when she entered the press room with the cast of Tár in a pale blue pantsuit. The flow is feminine. Note the interesting calf detail – a clip or a peg? Not sure. However, it holds the folds from the high, belted waist in perfect pleated flow.

(Below) Aimee Lou Wood – playful in the breeze. The voluminous skirt makes art in the blustery Italian evening. The Mary Jane platform heels. The puff sleeves, polka-dotted, divine.

The night was made of classic black, with muted hues and a single splash of contrasting color. What will tomorrow bring. Return to see the surprises.
