Fashion Trends: Venice Film Festival- Sheers & Tessa Thompson

Fashion Trends at Venice Film Festival. Julianne Moore stunned in a sheer Valentino as sheers continued to trend. Tessa Thompson embraced the hair trend – read how.  Jewelry trend: chokers. Men’s Fashion: stayed staid and stylish, but bow ties got interesting.

Don Cheadle and Adam Driver:  each took style in a different way.

(Left) Mr. Cheadle always has a unique twist to his look – here, the bow tie deserves a second peek.

(Right) Adam Driver does traditional and we understand the choice. His lanky frame is ‘suited’ to it.

(Above) Tessa Thompson killed it with an ultra modern look, the chain choker – fresh. The hair pulled back with a forehead detail, tinted auburn, the glasses – Miss Dior – to die for.

(Below) Jodie Turner-Smith is a magnet to every camera at each photo call. The sheer skirt, patterned, so not too extreme, the gloves an elegant touch held over from Cannes trends. The hair with hidden sparkle, and a jeweled choker starting a little fashion-flutter of its own.

(Above) We are loving what women are doing with their hair. The trend to cover and reveal taking the ‘do’ to exciting variety – and we say: ‘Do’ more!

(Below) The former first lady was a breath of fresh air in aqua. The longer hair, softer and framing the face – not too blunt, but softly curved on the bottom. The flats practical and comfy – but good on the eyes.

(Above) May Nivola goes with a grown-up sheer and Raffey Cassidy goes with feathers on the skirt and an interesting leg:  a light fishnet. Sam Nivola is modern in a Dior suit with trending jacket closure.

(Below) Regé-Jean Page looks like he’s auditioning for 007 – smooth with a twist of ‘now’ in the chain draped from the bow tie.  A trend may have been born – watch this space!

Greta Ferro epitomizes what the first night of the Venice Film Festival stands for: tradition with an eye on new. The sheer top with strategic pockets heralds that sheers are now de rigueur. Come back tomorrow for a look at what’s hot on the red carpet as the stars glimmer in the spotlight.
