Hugh Laurie on “The Night Manager”

AMC’s The Night Manager is the latest screen adaptation based on John Le Carré, the British spy novel master who has written the source books for classics as The Spy Who Came In From The Cold and Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and more recently films like The Constant Gardener and A Most Wanted Man. The British-American co-production is directed by Golden Globe winner Susanna Bier (A Better World, 2010) and stars Tom Hiddleston as a freelance spy going up against menacing arms dealer Hugh Laurie. The HFPA’s Jenny Cooney spoke to the six-time nominee, two-time Golden Globe winning Laurie about playing the villain and the undying allure of spy stories.
