Based on the Emily Danforth novel of the same title, The Miseducation of Cameron Post details the coming of age of the teenage protagonist who is sent to be “reformed” at a Christian gay conversion camp by a conservative aunt. The adaptation, which won the Grand Jury Prize at this year’s Sundance Festival, is directed by Desiree Akhavan and stars Chloë Grace Moretz in the titular role. The HFPA’s Scott Orlin asked the actress about the film and its social significance.
