CJ (Christopher) Johnson

CJ Johnson is president of the Film Critics Circle of Australia and a member of FIPRESCI, the International Federation of Film Critics. He is the film critic for “Mornings With Sarah Macdonald” and resident cinema expert for “Evenings With Renee Krosch” and “Nightlife With Suzanne Hill” on ABC Radio Australia. He served on the jury of the 47th Norwegian International Film Festival in 2019 and the 69th Oberhausen Short Film Festival in 2023. He lectures on Cinema at the Art Gallery of New South Wales and other prestigious institutions throughout Australia, is a contributing editor for Metro Magazine, and head lecturer in screen storytelling and cinema studies at Sydney Film School. He has studied at Brown University, The American Repertory Theatre Institute of Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard University, the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) and the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS).
