Gabriel Arana-Fuentes
I have worked as a writer, reporter-editor, editor, live presenter, and communication consultant. My career began in 2002, and over the past 20 years, I have worked in print media, including Siglo Veintiuno, Diario de Centro América, and elPeriódico. In digital media, I have contributed to Relato, Terra Guatemala, and República. At the latter, I received the National Cultural Journalism Award, granted by the Ministry of Culture and Sports in 2017. My primary focus in journalism has been entertainment and culture.
I have served as a professor at Rafael Landívar University and DaVinci University. Currently, I am the director of the experiential journalism platform gonzo-gonzo.com, as well as an independent communication consultant. I also offer writing courses and professional and academic writing coaching in Guatemala.
I am the author of two children’s books: the educational video game Lúmina, el libro del mundo (Lúmina: The Book of the World) and the children’s novel Gala y el Manuscrito legendario (Gala and the Legendary Manuscript), both developed in collaboration with Santillana Publishing. Additionally, I explore art through sculpture and object intervention.
