Maria Juesas
María Juesas is a film, TV and theatre expert, specializing in British and Asian fiction. She’s also a cultural journalist and a member of the Spanish Association of Film Journalists (AICE), the organization that grants the Feroz Awards. Her love for cinema began with the talking animals in ‘Babe’ and has since grown among the horizons of John Ford, the galaxies of George Lucas, and the beaches of Agnès Varda. Being an avid believer that a good story can change your life, she has no favorite genre because her cinephile history knows no bounds (or shame). Just mention the words Richard Curtis to her and you’ll have a conversation going on forever.
She joined the Fotogramas editorial team as an intern after working as a projectionist at the best cinema in Sheffield after and writing about film, music, theater, and literature for publications such as Nuebo, Milana, and El Generacional. At Fotogramas, she has covered festivals such as the SEMINCI in Valladolid or the Unifrance Rendez-vous in Paris, in addition to interviewing hundreds of personalities including Robert De Niro, Renée Zellweger, Benedict Cumberbatch, Olivia Colman and Richard Gere. If you can’t find her, she’s probably watching a Kurosawa film. It doesn’t matter when you read this.
