I have started my journey as an entertainment journalist in Television since 2006.For 20 years, I have been highlighting domestic and foreign films through news in television journalism. As a part of exploring films from different countries, I have covered every edition of the Cannes Film Festival in person since 2017. Until now I have covered the 8 editions of it, not only I was acquainted with the storytelling from different genres, but also I asked the Director and Artists about my awaited questions in Press Conferences. I interviewed them. Their shared film concepts, their ideals, their thoughts has been captured in my camera and broadcast to the audience. Bollywood star Naseeruddin Shah, Anupam Kher; musician-composer AR Rahman, director Mira Nair, Subhash Ghai, Payel Kapadia, Gautam Ghosh, actress Aparna Sen, Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali Khan are included in my list.
The 74th edition of Cannes Film Festival, was significant in my career. That year, my country, Bangladesh, proved its presence in Cannes. The movie “Rehana Maryam Noor” by Abdullah Mohammad Saad, as a first film of Bangladesh, got selected officially in the “Un Certain Regard” section. Later, in 2025, another film “Ali” by Adnan Ali Rajeeb got nominated as ‘Special Mention’ in Short Film Competition in Cannes. I was the only one Bangladeshi journalist who covered the exceptional journey of team “Ali”.
I have also covered the Busan International Film Festival. My love for film has interested me in this medium. Out of that interest, I have completed a three-month course on film screenwriting under the supervision of Bangladesh Short Film Forum. In addition, I am still in touch with the cultural sector of Bangladesh. I am also attached with DW Bangla, a German based news media as a guest writer.
