Sara Merican is a film journalist and critic from Singapore. She regularly covers film and TV for Deadline and has also written features and reviews for Sight and Sound, The Hollywood Reporter, Forbes.com, The Telegraph, NME, The Verge and ContentAsia. She is a member of FIPRESCI. She has worked as a programmer for the Singapore International Film Festival and served on the critics’ jury at the Venice Film Festival 2022 as well as the selection committees for Singapore’s National Youth Film Awards, U.A.E.’s Sharjah Film Platform and the ContentAsia Awards.
