Fashion Reimagined, Becky Hutner’s documentary at the Tribeca Film Festival, follows sustainable fashion designer Amy Powney on her journey to create beautiful clothes while at the same time saving the environment. Winner of the Vogue Designer Fashion Fund, Powney, who lived and grew up in a one-bedroom caravan she shared with her sister and her environmental activist parents, began the #FashionTheFuture campaign where she encourages people to rent, recycle, and repair clothes instead of buying dresses all the time.

The first edition of the Allora Fest in Ostuni, Puglia, got off to a triumphant start last night. OUTFEST was established in 1982 in Los Angeles as the first and only global LGBTQIA+ arts, media, and entertainment organization to support artists, communities, and filmmakers to change the world through their stories. Every year, the non-profit organization hosts over 300 screenings and panels, and six programs and engages with over 50,000 attendees.

Did many moviegoers, especially families, get used to Disney releasing Pixar films on Disney+ that they are skipping watching Lightyear in theaters, preferring to wait until the Toy Story spinoff is available on streaming? Jurassic World: Dominion continues to dominate the Chinese box office in its second week, earning a total of $92. 23 million so far in 10 days, and $23 million over the weekend with 20% of its cinemas still closed for Covid reasons.

A German comedy interrupted the top three last weekend with a more than impressive debut in third place, while the number one and two showed staying power. Jurassic World: Ein Neues Zeitalter (Jurassic World: Dominion) stayed where it debuted last week – firmly planted on top of the charts with enough dinosaur fighting power to keep the number two at bay.

Asian Pacific filmmakers were well represented at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival in New York. Two events highlighted their presence in the annual New York festival – the Asian Pacific Filmmakers Experience and the Future Gold Film Fellowship hosted by Gold House, Tribeca Studios, and Netflix.
