Novembre is the new number 1 movie at the French box office. Directed by Cédric Jimenez with Jean Dujardin, Anaïs Demoustier, and Sandrine Kiberlain, this movie follows the French anti-terrorism services during the 5 days after the November 13th, 2015 attacks in Paris.

Two debuting films, a comedy-drama by Christian Bale and David O. Russell and an animated/live-action hybrid were no match to Smile, the horror flick which smiled its way to stay on top at the North American charts.

Sensational animals are the new rulers of the German charts. The ticket to paradise flew audiences to a close second place.

The horror movie Smile did just that in the U. S.

China’s answer to Top Gun is a movie called Born to Fly which was to open on September 30, in time for the week-long National Day holiday celebrations starting October 1. However, it was pulled from release with no reason given aside from a vague announcement that it needed to “improve special effects,” according to radii.

Avatar is still going strong and remains number 1.  The Avatar re-release, directed by James Cameron with Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldaña, and Sigourney Weaver, shows the franchise's overseas strength.

Smile, a horror film that was originally headed for a streaming-only release, grinned its way to the bank as it topped the domestic box office and earned way more than predicted. In his feature directing debut, Parker Finn found a gold mine in his 2020 short, Laura Hasn’t Slept, and adapted it into a sleeper hit for Paramount, Smile.

Three’s the charm for Ticket to Paradise. No exciting new debut stood a chance in the top ten.

Gizmodo is reporting that Return to Dust, directed by Li Ruijun, a film that was on the top ten charts for a few weeks grossing over $7 million, and which screened at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year, was pulled from streaming services in China. While social media users have commented on the disappearance of the film on some platforms, Weibo has banned users from making any mention of the deletion.

This week, the French box office ranking is completely turned upside down since half of the movies have disappeared to make way for new ones. Well, “new” ones maybe not be that much considering that Avatar is number 1!
