Julia Roberts and Jacob Tremblay on “Wonder”

Based on the New York Times bestseller, Wonder tells the inspiring story of August Pullman, a boy with facial differences, previously home schooled by his attentive mother (played by Julia Roberts) who enters fifth grade, attending a mainstream elementary school for the first time. HFPA member Lena Basse spoke with the films stars Julia Roberts and Jacob Tremblay (the young star of Room) who takes on the physical transformation to play the central character of Augie.

Noah Baumbach on The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected)

The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected) made quite some noise when it premiered in Cannes last May, much of it related to the fact that it was the first ever streaming service-produced film to run in the prestigious Palme d’Or competition (to the marked displeasure of French exhibitors). Beyond the novelty and the controversy lies Noah Baumbach’s funny and poignant story about parents, adult children and the ties that bind all of us in one or the other capacity – or both.
