Underworld star Kate Beckinsale, two-time Golden Globe Award-nominee Peter Krause, Paula Patton and Golden Globe winner and five-time nominee Jeremy Piven will announce the nominees for the 72nd annual Golden Globe awards on Thursday, December 11. They will join Hollywood Foreign Press Association president, Theo Kingma, dick clark productions’ executive producer Barry Adelman and Miss Golden Globe, Greer Grammer.

  Tina Fey has revealed it was Saturday Night Live producer Lorne Michaels who suggested she and Amy Poehler should sign on to host the Golden Globes for two more years. And she has given an insight into how she and Amy plan their remarks and jokes.

The HFPA gained plaudits and publicity for giving away almost $2 million at it's grants dinner last month, but its charity work continues throughout the year, as a recent letter from the Small Wonders Foundation to HFPA president Theo Kingma demonstrates. JAMES GARNERJames Garner, who shot to fame in the 1950s as the charming and dry-witted gambler on the hit TV western Maverick and earned 12 Golden Globe nominations, winning three times, died at his home aged 86. The Oklahoma-born Garner, who also starred in the long-running TV series The Rockford Files, amassed more than 80 movie and TV-movie credits during his 50-year career.
