Gina Lollobrigida Honored in Hollywood, Meets HFPA

If you have worked with King Vidor and John Huston, shared the screen with Humphrey Bogart and Rock Hudson, Tyrone Power and Yul Brynner, Anthony Quinn, Burt Lancaster, Tony Curtis, Frank Sinatra, Yves Montand, Marcello Mastroianni and Erroll Flynn, well, it’s pretty safe to assume that you are part of cinema history. If you have been the honored guest of presidents and heads of state and pursued for a dozen years by Howard Hughes, and scores of other men, dazzled by one of the world’s great beauties … in other words if you are Gina Lollobrigida, then the only surprising thing about receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame is that it took so long.

Hollywood Foreign Press Association Hosts London Reception in Celebration of the 75th Annual Golden Globe® Awards

The Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) hosted a very special British reception in celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Golden Globe Awards at the May Fair Hotel in London. Attendees included Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Barbara Broccoli, Caitriona Balfe, Celia Imrie, Christian Slater, Christine Baranski, Gillian Anderson, Jason Issacs, Jenna Colman, Jim Sturgess, Joanne Froggatt, Lesley Manville, Mark Stanley, Nahuel Pérez, Biscayart, Peter Morgan,  Rami Malek, Robin Campillo, Rosamund Pike, Sam Heughen, Shazad Latif, Sonequa Martin-Green, Sophie Gardiner and Tobias Menzies.

It’s a Finnish Film Affair for the HFPA at the Helsinki Festival

The unique coming of age story Stupid Young Heart, from director Selma Vilhunen, won the Finnish Film Affair Work-in-Progress award at the recent Helsinki International Film Festival. Around 60,000 people flocked to Finland to attend the 30th anniversary of the Love & Anarchy: Helsinki International Film Festival, held from September 14-26 and the three-person jury for the September 19-21 industry showcase event included HFPA member Jenny Cooney Carrillo.
