Adam Driver

Nominated: Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in any Motion PictureAn unlikely hero in his own success story, a former US marine not only was accepted to the most prestigious acting school in the country, but continued on to become a three-time Emmy nominee for his breakout role in Girls and has worked with the greats of our generation such as, but not limited to, Noah Baumbach, The Coen Brothers, Jim Jarmusch, Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg. Originally from San Diego, Adam Driver grew up with his mother and stepfather in Mishawaka, Indiana where he was an occasional theater actor and church choir singer.

John David Washington

Nominated: Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture - DramaJohn David Washington received his first Golden Globe nomination for his performance in Spike Lee’s BlacKkKlansman, in which he plays Ron Stallworth, an idealistic black cop who joins the all-white Colorado Spring police force. Based on a memoir by the real-life detective, “Black Klansman: Race, Hate, and the Undercover Investigation of a Lifetime”, this stranger-than-fiction tale is John David Washington’s first leading role and tells the story of how Stallworth impersonated a white supremacist and infiltrated the Ku Klux Klan in the 1970s.
