New York-based Grant Rosenmeyer plays a mourning widower who goes to extremes to find inner peace in the fantasy-like dramedy The Secret Art of Human Flight. After the sudden death of his wife, a children's book author, Ben Grady, takes a road less traveled to try to heal his soul.

At the beginning of the film, the situation looks perfect. An affectionate and good-looking couple lives in a beautifully styled home and shares a quick kiss.

Nick Jonas, Vanessa Hudgens, Caitriona Balfe, Sam Heughan, Suki Waterhouse, Gabrielle Union, Billy Porter Flowers, topknots and elegance! Style in the old-fashioned sense populated the Tribeca Film Festival red carpet.  Topknots continue to trend at the Tribeca Film Festival for hair – Vanessa Hudgens went for two! While Cyndi Lauper’s hair went straight up and lilac.

Cara Cusamano is perhaps one of the busiest people in New York City these days, ahead of the opening of the Tribeca Festival (TF) 2023, in which she has a double role as Director and VP of Programming. After being a regular attendee at the Festival’s first edition (2002), Cusamano became professionally involved in 2007, and has not stopped since, having held, she says, “every role within the programming team” so far.

He only helmed two feature films in his lifetime, but for those in the know, Jack Garfein remains a venerated and influential figure in the entertainment community, a teacher whose impact was seen in foundational shifts in screen performance and storytelling. Director Tessa Louise-Salomé’s artful new documentary The Wild One, which recently enjoyed its world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival, lovingly illuminates this loquacious but still somewhat enigmatic artist, a celebrated Broadway director perhaps best known as the co-founder of Actors Studio West.

Asian Pacific filmmakers were well represented at the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival in New York. Two events highlighted their presence in the annual New York festival – the Asian Pacific Filmmakers Experience and the Future Gold Film Fellowship hosted by Gold House, Tribeca Studios, and Netflix.

The Tribeca Film Festival, celebrating its 20th year since it was founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff in 2002 in the wake of 9/11, is again featuring LGBTQ+ themed features, documentaries, and shorts this year. Tribeca is one of the country’s top film festivals that uplifts marginalized voices.

Jennifer Lopez’s documentary, Halftime, opened the 2022 Tribeca Film Festival at the United Palace in Washington Heights. Lopez sizzled in a black velvet gown with sheer cutouts by Tom Ford, in the film’s world premiere.

David Bowie passed away on January 10, 2016, an evening no one attending the 73rd Golden Globes will likely forget. That night, after the ceremony, revelers crowded the dance floors of the after-parties, when one DJ after the next started playing Bowie songs while fans shed tears for their fallen idol.
