Awards season is over but the red carpet is showing why the Golden Globe Awards is not just Hollywood’s Party of the Year. The Globes also serve as style inspo for everything that comes afterward.

 

The fire styles reflect what was first shown back in January at the launch of the fashion-bar that every other carpet has to hit.

 

Women wore bubble gum pink, bright green, white and sparkles. Men continued flirting with color. Platforms are here to stay for the season and they are reaching mountainous heights.

Remember Julia Garner‘s Gucci at the Golden Globes? Margot Robbie‘s Chanel? Pink in all its forms will pop the entire summer. Danielle Jalade in a color blocked dress that puts a modern spin on a 60s classic. Golden Brooks goes with neon pink.

Above: Sheers have been here a while, and they are becoming more theatrical, with beads that catch the light – this one looks like Rachel Zegler has stepped off a Vegas stage. The train is solid, almost like a cloak of concealment. (Jessica Chastain epitomized the look at the Globes.)

 

Below: Today is the official beginning of spring. Summer whites should be seen again – although they never went away. Note the clean makeup on Yara Shahid and Elza González. While Zachary Levi in the color of the 70s, looks dapper. Note his flower tie. SO 70s! (Color choice seen on Andrew Garfield at the Globes.)

 

Men are embracing color.

Above Left: Donald Glover is sublime in the soft sunshine yellow suit by Zegna. The textured pant is beautiful. The matching shirt, so soft, the entire ensemble: stunning. Men: THIS is why you should embrace color. The look so very Clark Gable. Anya Taylor-Joy wore the color in satin on the silver carpet at the Golden Globes in January.

 

Right: Aron Piper in salmon pink, a difficult color to pull off, but he does it well. Love the piping on this Dior suit and their overlap jacket.

 

Below: Chloe Bailey, Dominique Fishback and Donald Glover have some fun on the red carpet. Neon green is just one of the variations of green that is trending. On St. Patrick’s Day we predicted that the color that was not a ‘go-to’ choice for most in the last decade, would indeed be trending this season. Look at all the ways you can wear it.

Below Left: Sharon Stone goes with olive. Note the gloves. The gown has a sheen so she shines in the flashlights. Green can absorb light, so the gold glow helps lighten the effect. Hilary Swank chose green at the Globes without the sheen, like black it sucks reflective light and minimizes.

 

Right: Natalee Linez in satin moss-green cut-out. The satin too, helps magnify the hue. The satin shows up the physique. 

Above: Heather Graham in a beaded sheath that fades from silver to white.

 

Below Left: Helen Mirren in the ‘sheer’ for mature women. The lining in flesh tones allows the look. The band on the hair, made popular by Hillary Clinton, appearing here. Will we see it catch fire?
