Fran Romero Pezoa
Fran Romero is a sociologist with a master’s degree in Public Affairs—specializing in media—from UC Berkeley, and is currently pursuing certification in film and TV business. A member of UC Berkeley’s 2020 Women Leaders cohort, she has also served as a graduate student instructor for “Introduction to Television” and “Media Studies.” Over the past four years, she has made significant contributions to cinematic paratext as a film journalist at Cinéfilos, and is the founder of Spanglish Cinema, a platform dedicated to amplifying festival narratives and award‑winning cinema for global audiences.
Fran’s achievements include being selected by independent media initiatives at international film festivals, leading Cinema masterclasses at top industry events, and conducting insightful interviews with renowned actors and filmmakers. A proud member of FIPRESCI, her work bridges critical analysis, mentorship, and cross‑cultural storytelling, positioning her as a dynamic voice in today’s film landscape.
