2023 Golden Globes

For this year’s 80th.

We called our countdown series “80 Years in 80 Days. ” It started on October 22, 2022, when we recalled the founding year, 1943, of the organization which would come to be called the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

Ennio Morricone, the Italian-born maestro, is considered one of the most accomplished and prolific film composers of all time — his astonishing achievements are reflected in nine Golden Globe nominations spanning five different decades. His final Golden Globe was awarded to him in 2016 for Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight, following previous wins for The Legend of 1900, in 2000, and The Mission, in 1987.
